"Clip far" is easy by moving a big solid coloured plane perpendicular from the camera back&forth; see GIFs.

No - that can become quite complex when you have a large scenario. It´s OK for a single object - not so for grouped or hierarchical meshes.have your idea been near clip without boolean?
