Bones and Rigging


Ok, I spent some time playing, and I think I came up with the answer.
First I split the teeth, which is weird because we usually split a lip. :rolleyes:
You had some bad geometry where they joined up so instead
of incorporating them, I made them a separate object

Now they can be animated separately.

Then I attached the inner mouth "pouch" to the inside lip edge, not the outer edge as it was.
I used IK handles and targets to keep the corners of the mouth from collapsing.
I also manually reduced geometry by deleting edges.

Rotate
only the two "control bones" to move the lips.

This is a bit more complicated than what I am aiming for Frank was a bit closer. I have a new mouth base now. and I am modifying Franks rig as well as testing others.

Mouth Base

For those of you playing along I have now changed the Mouth Base the big inner mouth pocket was too big. So here is the file if you want a go. Texture included.

It still could use some tweaking but it's the general idea.

That's great I don't know how to morph things. How about a tut?
Could this be used to make it smile or Frown?
Also would it export as an FBX I'll try exporting your file. There was no morphs or animation in the exported FBX file. Hummm?

Yes. You can morph any changes you have made to an Object.
If you change the Position, Rotation or/and Scale of an object by manipulating it's Polygons, Edges or/and Points you can morph those changes.
Also would it export as an FBX I'll try exporting your file. There was no morphs or animation in the exported FBX file. Hummm?
I wish I could help you here but I don't know much about exporting or importing object files.
