Select Mesh from large Sketchup exported file

Hello,

I'm interested to find out the best way to select a surface of a large fbx import. I have folders nested in folders, so, the mesh is lost in all the folders. Is there a faster way to edit surfaces then organizing the folder before I export from sketchup?
