Hi,
do you want to create an environment map or do you want to use one?
The usage of an environment map can be seen in the "soapbox.jas" example scene which comes with Cheetah3D.
But you could alternative also use a HDRI texture which offers much better rendering results. See therefor the documentation of the "HDRI Tag" and the HDRI example scenes.
