Cheetah3D crashes on trying to write to non-writable volume.

Just trying my registered version. Found that I can reproduceably crash v2.2 when trying to export to a non-writable volume, in my case, a CD-R.

Should recover gracefully instead of crashing, of course.

wow I never came on the idea to save to a non-writeable volume. But you are totally right. A app should never crash. I've fixed that bug. The next update of Cheetah3D shouldn't crash when you try to save to an non-writeable volume.
