Is there a config file and can I set some things in it?

Hi all. I'm wondering if there is a config file somewhere. I would like to set some things as default, if possible.

1. I would like to set the Transform tool to use None instead of Surface as default. Really, why Surface as default?
2. I would like to set FPS to 24 as default.
3. I would like to set render dimensions to default to project dimensions.

Just to name a few.
Thank you.

Hi Ernest
 You can generate an empty .jas template.
* Define the resolution in the render panel as required.
* Set the fps for animation as required.
* Save and use as a template for any new projects.
* Parameters for the transform-tool seem to be set to default raster & grid 0.1 at start up; however, snapping mode can be set via hotkeys.

* Use Save As... to rename when using for actual C3D work.

* You can populate this customised template with other personal defaults, eg standard materials, specific cameras, lights, etc.

Thanks Helmut. Your suggestions are what I ended up doing, but, would be nice to make changes at a config file level. I really dislike the Transform default. I wasn't aware of it and I kept moving points around and they would be snapping all over the place and I'm like WTF? Then found setting a few days ago. So, yah, that's a sore spot with me. haha

Hello,

I’ve not encountered the default snapping of the transform tool being anything other than none.

IOW, my experience is that “None" IS the default for the “Snapping" parameter of the transform tool.

Has anyone else experienced the default being something other than none?

Thanks and cheers,
gsb

gsb, yes that is where you set the dimensions. but,I would like to change the dimensions so that those dimensions are set as default. That way, when I create a new file, I don't have to change defaults on several items before I begin to work, like dimensions, snapping default, frames per second, etc.

Default Tool settings can be changed by clicking here:

yes, that helps, Zoohead . I must have clicked on that during some exploration of the UI and didn't see anything pop up or any message. Thank you.
