I took some time off from working on my animation about 2 bugs that get stuck in wet paint, to work on this Halloween animation I did for the car club I belong to...
The whole "MOPAR Or No Car (Halloween)" animation took me 3 weeks and a total of 130 hours to complete - There were a lot of things I had to re-do several times as I made a lot of timeline mistakes (and a glitch-bug with spline tracking target getting removed after some sort of action, not sure of the root cause for that).
For folks not familiar with the "MOPAR or no car" phrase, it was a popular saying in the United States among Muscle Car owners and enthusiasts back in the 70's (maybe before) and still is popular today - Used by Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth car owners to make a statement about their loyalty to the car brand. The word "MOPAR" came from Chrysler's parts division, short for "Motor Parts".
I got the Cemetery model scene with tombstones and graves from SketchFab, but altered some parts and the layout for my video. The Dodge Demon Challenger model I got from SketchFab and altered it and fixed some issues with it (added solid-color emissive glow for the center headlight rings and logos). I got a woman model ("old lady model") from Turbosquid to make the witch and altered the face to make the witches long nose, re-colored the UV Image to make her Green with Green eyes, added a hat and the broomstick model I got from SketchFab (made some minor adjustments to that model too). The model for the Pumpkin Head guy I got from SketchFab, removed his human head and added the Pumpkin head (solid-color emissive glow for eyes and mouth), re-rigged for my purposes, changed the UV Image colors (to make a dark red coat and gloves, blue shirt) . I re-used the tombstones and graves and one tree + some other trees and items from another free model scene for the title screen shot. I got the Skeleton from TurboSquid, added solid-color emissive glow for eye glow. I created the moon, traffic cones, and street lights.
I did the title and ending screen text effects created in Apple's Motion app. The base background Halloween music/sound effects were purchased from iTunes, but I layered with additional sound effects in GarageBand. I created the Skull Portal sound effects. The final movie was put together/processed using Apple's iMovie.
The skeleton laugh in the race scene, is Vincent Price laughing from the end of Michael Jackson's 1982 "Thriller" song. I did the "Mopar or no Car" voice and added sound effects to it in GarageBand. The Dodge Demon Challenger race audio is from the Dodge Demon Ringtone found on the Dodge Garage Website's download area.
