Question about burn transform

Question about burn transform

Martin,

I don't think I quite understand "burn transform". From reading the documentation I understood that burn transform reset the object's origin to its current location.

Here I had objects at -200,0,0. When I rotated them they appeared to rotate about the origin (0,0,0). I moved the objects to (0,0,0) invoked "burn transform" and the object center appears to have moved to (200,0,0) - still offset from the object center.

Hi,
but that is exactly the job of the burn transform tool. It sets back the objects position, scale and rotation and pre-multiplys the mesh with its transformation matrix.

Bye,
Martin

Then why is the object center (3-arrows in the image) 200 units from the object location, (0,0,0) after the transform?

What might I have done to displace the object center by so much?

Hi,
did you move the pedestal folder? That would explain your problem, since the position coordinates are always given according to its parent object.

If that isn't the problem please mail me your file and I will have a look into it.

Bye,
Martin
