Deformed spring tube

Hi I need some help/suggestion: Created a spring shape and added a bulge modifier but I dont want the springcoil to deform aswell (on the left spring the coil is kind of flattend , I want it to be round like the sample on the right. Does any body have a suggestion? THX in advance

If you first use an extrude creator, and bulge. Then use it to create a new spline with the Polygon To Spline script from master Hiroto.

* Just in case anybody needs this:
* There exists a spline script for an Archimedean spiral. You wont get a hyperbolic shape as in the example above but a conical shape.
* As with ZooHead´s construct, this can be animated for mechanical videos.

Looks like a standard helix spline from the Spline menu with radius end/beginning=0,0

It is, but the parameters may be more suitable for engineering applications.
