Diagonal Gradient

Here's one with the "invisible" disc, made visible.

I like the Frame Grid-work holding the tiles... Very cool!

Thanks Al, I thought using something as familiar as
cubby hole storage would be a good way to make it "Real".
I remember those from my early school days.

Thanks Al, it's been very educational, I needed
to understand this thing before I made it.

Getting closer with 30 elements to go.
With a few mistake to correct.

Oh Man!! That is awesome!:icon_thumbup:
Is this going to be animated or interactive in some way?

I would like to have it animated/interactive with the same kind of
interactivity as http://www.ptable.com/, only graphically stunning.

I may need to recalibrate my monitor, my images
are so much more saturated on the forum.

The only problem with ptable is the temperature slider. First, it's hard to tell the text colors apart, and second there's no pressure slider and those temperatures assume 1 ATM (and Hydrogen only becomes solid at insanely high pressures).

Right on. Maybe useful? http://www.awwwards.com/the-quick-learn-way-to-creating-a-3d-object-with-babylon-js.html

I'm thinking of using that script in an upcoming project of my own.

Thanks, I'll look into that later.

Very good point, most other periodic tables don't have
either, and assume a fixed standard pressure and temp.

The dynamic ptable indicates Hydogen becomes solid at absolute zero which
is a theoretical point. Absolute zero is not the lowest enthalpy state possible though.

I'm not sure what you mean about the colors though,
black, blue and red show up pretty good here.

Luckily my brother has a PHD in chemistry and I plan on having him evaluate the project at some point.

I finished building the main model.

I found a video by the creator of the dynamic periodic table. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX56SP-lTHc&hd=1
This is one serious scientific tool, I'm not going to try to replicate everything presented there, it's simply a mind blowing piece of work.
I will try and create a beautiful, but more simple tool with a link to ptable.com.

Tonio, If you haven't watched this yet, check it out. He talks
very fast but, as Hawkeye Pierce said, "try listening slowly".
Drop him a line about the pressure slider I'm pretty sure he will respond.

Fantastic work ZOO!!!
What were your plans on the animation?

Whoaaaa  That's awesome man. Nice work.

Thanks maruchan, Cheetah handled all the textures with no problem I'm happy to say.

I'm going to build a big "screen" right in the "valley" between
the peaks, rollovers and clicks will display info and animations.

We'll see where it goes from there once I
finish building the "interface/display".

I added some shading to give a little more depth.
