alphas ?

alphas ?

ive notice strange behavior on alphas in v5.they render with a plane wich should be invisible like it was in v4.6.
anyone could explain what is wrong, please?
thanks.
i have this two files:5 and 4.6.
5 was built with v5.but v5 render it with that plane/face.
then 4.6 was built in v4.6 because when i opened 5 with v4.6 there were no materials. but it rendered nice.
now if i render 4.6 (name file)in v5 it renders well.
so both materials with alpha look similar on node editor but only the one built in v4.6 works good enought.
yeah?

Hi!

Three things:

1. Cheetah3D does not use the transparency of an image as alpha. I don't know if it did in the past. It does not anymore. You need to have an actual alpha channel.
2. Turn the Index of Refraction down to 1.
3. The alpha channel must be the inverse. That is, whatever you want to show through completely must be white on the alpha channel.

I think that's all.

Hi.
Can´t confirm. Rendering your 4.6 in V4.6.4 or in V5.0 look the same.
And for your 5 rebuild just follow point 2. of Andreu´s advice.

Cheers
