UV map 2

UV map 2

Why do we have a choice of two uv maps in the bake tag? When would you use this? Thanks All the help says is "Normally UV set 2 will be used to bake light maps." Ok what is UV map 1 used for?
Also I remember Martin saying something about why the UV 1 baked UV is upside down but I don't remember why. I know it's one more step to rotate the entire UV map 180 degrees to paint the top as the top.Why doesn't it just come out right side up? Ah the questions that burn in my head. And I know probably already been answered, just too lazy to search for them.

Unless you´re using your assets inside a game engine you can ignore UV set 2.

Cheers
Frank

Thanks Frank, This I have been doing, but I read an article on edge wear in object textures and the author was saying that you could do the edge wear and tear sections on a 2nd UV map.So as to define the areas where edges of an object that receive more wear and tear the corners and edges. Would have their own UV maps. As of yet I have not tried this but I am planning to.
Just thought I'd get some ideas about the two UV sets from the Forum first.
I thank you as always and hope you the best.
