IK handle animation snaps back

IK handle animation snaps back

1. create joint chain with IK handler
2. assign IK handler of length 2 to a joint in the chain
--> moving IK around works fine.

3. create keyframe(s) for joint with IK handle
--> i can see keyframe "blocks" being created in the timeline, but there is no animation visible.

FK saves keyframes just fine, but joints with IK either snap back to their original state, or remain in the last state I dragged them into.

Am I missing something?

How did you create those keyframes?
Try the following: After adjusting the IK handle shift click the beginning of that hierarchy (arm, leg e.g.) then record keyframe.

Cheers

thanks Frank,
yes, that's what I ended up doing, and it works. I was confused by 2 things:

1. the IK handle joint does record keyframes, but there seems to be no actual animation recorded. bug?
2. I thought that the autokey setting recorded all changes to the joints "down" the IK hierarchy automatically, but it does not.
