Lamp Rendering

Lamp Rendering

Well if Allister is not going to post it I will. I gave him four hours. Allister Godfrey modeled this Jude table lamp. It's posted at the http://www.formfonts.com site.

We where going back and forth on rendering techniques and this is what we came up with in the end. The background is a massively messed up HDRI, but it gives good interior illumination and highlights.

Hi Jake,
nice lamp rendering :) But I guess you've used the wrong HDRI "type" in the first image because the background looks to have a singularity which is quite usual if you choose the wrong HDRI type.

The HDRI looks like that on one side I believe. It's a probe and it was on the same setting as the second one. It's a real badly shot probe to begin with, but it gives off a nice interior light and has a nice highlighted window.

I also had the long lens config, so I don't know if that would make a difference.

Very zoomy effect.

he he, nice one Jake :D as I don't have Dreamweaver installed and can't upload my pics ... would you mind showing the rest of the guys might efforts with this lamp ...?
