Transform tool bug

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but sometimes when switching to the transform tool, the tool doesn't show up until you click somewhere in the scene. However this also deselects my objects. I can't relate it to any specific operation, it just happens randomly. I'm using ver. 5.6
 
Well that´s what I´d call a "vague bug" - I mean having nothing selected - no transform tool will appear - makes sense - no? ;)

No the polys are selected, but the transform tool doesnt appear in the scene. The dialogue box is open in the properties window.In order to get the tool to appear in the scene, I have to click in the scene somewhere. Which usually de selects the polys. It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen for some reason.
