Antialiasing Problem (Again)

Here's a problem I'm seeing often: even though I have AA set to 2x 16x, I keep seeing these AA problems. It always seems to be in areas of light / dark contrast: look at the column -- its edges are fine, except where they pass in front of the dark bracket at the top (ringed in red).

Martin -- I know you're busy with the release of 3.0, but any idea / pointers as to what's going on here?

Hi Tim,
that's indeed very strange. Could you create a small example scene which shows that behaviour? The smaller the better. And could you mail me that scene. I will look into it once v3.0 is out.

Have you tried switching from "color" to "edge" antialiasing mode (Properties/Render)? Not a cure-all, but it seems to help in some situations, I think...?
