Good stuff Martin. I'm very impressed all you guys.

I wonder if its worth disclosing what other apps were used- given that was a requirement? If someone used an app that someone else couldnt afford, its kinda imbalanced. Knowing the pipelines would help voters make clearer choices I think. Else I would've used particle illusion to set fire to my whole scene :)

Aaron,
don't worry. Most users just used Cheetah3D + Photoshop, some also Illustrator. But no one used a special particle system tool.

Bye,
Martin

Hi,
zBrush definitely a 3D tool and therefore wasn't allowed. And nobody used it. So don't worry.

Bye,
Martin

Ok great! Hey well done all of you! Looks awesome and its good to show Martin how successful our work is with the tool he made. Good stuff.

Hi Martin,

is there a way that everyone who has voted could see the results or is it a secret till December 1th?

Like it is now, it is very thrilling ... hehehehehe

cheers

What I don't understand is how Satoru Imatake got those wrinkles in the clothes.

i reckon he used a displacement modifier… the clever chap :)

all you need to do is export your uv's as a pdf and open it in photoshop. then draw some wrinkles in shades of grey as if you were creating a bump-map. Then in cheetah add a displacement modifier and select your newly created displacement map. then subdivide you model about 4 or 5 times and you should see your model change shape :)

You can do it all without having to touch Z-brush, Z-brush just makes it a bit easier :) although i don't seem to be able to export displacement maps since i downloaded the new version :(

OR… he may just have created his model so that the polygons were all flowing in the right direction.

Either way it would be great to hear how he did it from the man himself :)

here you go… all done in cheetah with the displacement modifier, didn't even need pshop :)
