I think the fastest approach is via a few splines and Todd´s loft script.

Hi.
In order to map your tube you have to make the loft object first editable.
You can use the UV mapper with cylindrical projection (some distortion will appear at the fold part) or you set one seam at the tube side and UV unwrap the tube (best result).
