How would a make a good fur material?

I just recently regestered my copy of cheetah 3d and am now woking on a dog. Is there anyone who could tell me how to create 3d fuzz or fur to add on?

Hi,
rendering real fur isn't possible with Cheetah3d yet, since real fur isn't just a material. To render real fur Cheetah3D actually has to create all the geometry of the hairs which isn't possible yet. Sorry.

But you can use photos of fur to texture the dog who Frank did it in that thread.

P.S. Maybe alot of work but you can fake hair with the trick in that tutorial.

The tutorial wasn't written for Cheetah3D but it should be possible to recreate that effect.
