making knife blade

Call me dense, but this is kind of hard to figure out. I want to import an Illustrator file of a blade profile (I've got that part) and then extrude it (I got that too). But how do I make the edge of the blade real thin? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tony.
This is a very quick hack.
Erase the inbetweens, that the sides are left. Use bridge-polygon and fillhole-tool to make it complete again. Now it is one hole thing.
Choose the side, where the sharp edge belongs and shrink it along one axis. Ready for cut off.
