Creating Bracelet with a picture on it!

Creating Bracelet with a picture on it!

Hey there people,

I am interested in buying this program, because I am a watch/jewelry designer. I do most of my work in photoshop and have other people turn them into bracelets etc etc.

How can I get a pattern, for instance a floral design covering a bracelet, because if I make materials they are... rounded like the spheres. I would also like to know if I can insert normal jpg pictures and put them in bracelets that I made 3d.

Thank you!

The spheres are just previews. The way the texture will appear on the object itself depends on UV mapping (a whole different topic).

And yes, you can bring in JPEGs.

You can apply a pattern, or you can also apply a bumpmap, for an embossed effect...

Closing a cuff

So I made a cyllinder but I want an cuff that is open at one side. So.... how do I now make sure that the inside of the ring is covered by polygons. AND what is the best way to create a cuff. By cutting up a cyllinder or using a circle? Please give me some feedback!

Tutorial ROI

Could you also make a tutorial on how you made those rings/cuffs. You will really do me a favor if you do. PLUS, I will buy this program the moment I can make a decent cuff or ring. :p

You could either use "Fill" which will fill the empty space or use "Create Polygon" which allows you to click vertices in counter clockwise order to create polygons.

Fill doesn't quite work

Fill doesn't work with me. Which selection type should I chose?

Because it only works on the sides, not the inside. Strange huh?

Hi.
One can use the bridge tool before deleting the opening.
But there are easier ways to model rings&bracelets.

With kindest regards
Frank

I think the torus is softer than the tube, and can be made square-ish.

Making a cuff might be easier with a boolean operation:
Make a torus (or a ring or a sweep), then cut it with a block.
Add some bulge modifiers for a more organic look.

Another easy way with a circle spline and a lathe..,
Make a circle spline, set the width to 0.1, set position to x=1

Add a lathe, set "angle to" for 270 degrees, set cover to "front and back"

Drop spline into lathe.
