hello!/render crashing!

First a quick intro. Hello everyone! I have a print/video/illustration design background and finally diving into the world of 3D. Definitely a different way of thinking and challenge solving. I purchased C3D a few weeks ago where I work at and have really been enjoying it (though I'm just getting started). I work at a casino in Mississippi and I have evolved from print to taking over the property signage and now doing animation for events/venues. and now the issue...

I'm working on an animation with our player's rewards card floating in midair. Very simple so far, card shape with texture plus camera push. But, I think it's the camera animation that's making C3D crash. It ramps really fast zooming into the card and then stops and slows to see the card hovering. It crashed right at the point when the card starts to become really visible. I'll attach some screen shots. The second pic is about where it crashes.

Can't wait to get pass this bump and post my completed work!

Thanks!

Hi Burger.
In my 2 years Cheetah3d career I never heard about a render crash.
But te good thing about this should be: render rash= Cheetah3d crash log! So please find it (easely configure your Cheetah3d toolbar by rightclick and add the "Bug Report icon" and hit that icon )and mail it to: martin@cheetah3d.de

With kindest regards
Frank

Thanks for the info! I must be having my Friday 13th early. I tried clicking the bug button and it says I'm not connected to the internet, when I definitely am. But I dug up the crash log and I'll email to Martin.

I do have an update. It was crashing when I was trying to render in 1280 x 720. I changed it to 640 x 480 and it was able to render the entire animation. Hopefully this might be a clue to my Thursday the 12th mystery! ...to be continued!

Hi Burger,
sorry for the crash. The bug reporter only works if you use Mail.app as your mail client. Otherwise OS X reports that message.

So please mail me the crash log (~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Cheetah3D.crash.log ) and is the .jas file directly to me. These two things are a great help to find bugs.

The size of the renderings should normally not cause a crash. But with a bug everything is possible.

Bye,
Martin
