More Predictable Symmetry Results

More Predictable Symmetry Results

Many of us have become used to modeling directly on a mesh with a subdivided modifier applied, (having the isoparms displayed directly on the subdivided representation of the mesh). Not having this luxury present in Cheetah, at this time, calls for other modeling solutions.

I have found that the "attraction radius" settings produce results that are not always visible near the seam, since the base mesh cage does not accurately show what is happening at vertices near the plane of symmetry. The only way to see exactly what you will get when the mesh is reduced to its final form, (via "make object editable"), is to invoke that command and see what you will get, then undoing this last command.

It would be so helpful to be able to accurately predict and see what the symmetry modifier is going to produce, while you work, thus ridding the process of any ambiguity.

Thanks,

Greg Smith
