Forum image quality

The C3D Forum has been invaluable as a source of information and inspiration. I asked my first question 18 years ago and got an answer from Martin within a day. At some point the design was updated and there were a few noticeable changes, like the circular icons and white background. That’s fine. But the older full size images, which I prefer, were reduced to thumbnails. Everything still works, so I’m OK with that. I just changed several thumbnails to full images on an old post. One other change I don’t like. I post renders that are scaled to fit smaller screens, thinking some of us are using 13” laptops. But images are enlarged 30%, so even something rendered 640 pixels tall doesn’t fit in the alloted space, and the render details are blurred. This seems backwards. C3D is engineered to make perfect renders, but then the Forum distorts them.

I am using an old browser on an old Mac, so let me know if it’s just a glitch on my end.

The advantage of the thumbnails is that once you click on them, an enlarged version with dark background appears, scaled down if the resolution is bigger than your screen but always in good quality.

Doesn't that work on your side?
If not, the "old browser on old mac" combo might be the reason.

While the way of embedding real size images might seem preferrable when doing the layout, the existence of retina and non-retina mac screens from 1.5k to 6k will make this approach fail on either the big or the small screens.
