I’m of a similar vintage. I shifted from using my mouse with my right hand 20-odd years ago to my left hand because of having to stretch my index finger to left-click the mouse. It caused problems all the way up from my hand to my shoulder blades. So I use my left hand for the mouse, and right-hand on the trackpad. I use these together all the time without thinking, but for some apps, like CAD and Cheetah, ’touch’ doesn’t quite work as expected. I can’t recall exactly how I use my trackpad with Cheetah. I do know that I use the mouse and viewport controls mostly, and I would much prefer to use the trackpad for panning (two-finger dragging) and zooming (two-finger pinch or spread) focused on where the mouse pointer is. That is, I would prefer to use the trackpad to replicate common viewport controls. An iPadOS deliberate two-finger tap for undo could also work.I do not know if i'am the only one but after 35 years of computer usage i like lazy sessions and navigations with one Hand.
I wish to use multiple touch commands the overall navigation possibility with a trackpad are underrated.
