Materials appear dark in a fbx import

is there a way to set them so they don't come in dark ( from blender )

We need a screenshot of the material settings. Is there a light source missing probably? Could be the polygons have "flipped normals" and wrong "Smooth angle".

thank you for looking into it. ( no nodes attached to any materials other than - Material
(attached materials how they look in blender )

normals seem to point in the right direction.

none of the lights I use, brighten it up . Maybe it's somehow the value of the material on export gets darkened (HSB or CMYK color that comes over on a different scale ?) some blender setting or bug ?
also any changes I make to smooth angle (set at 45 now), seem to change anything

CYMK colors are not suitable for rendering purpose - just RGB. Can you uload a tiny part as a zipped jas file? Has to be under 500KB in file size.

PS.: I can´t recreate this behaviour made a simple object - use the "Principled BSDF->Surface" shader - exported as FBX - camera screwed up because of different axis alignment in Blender. Changing the Material to the PBR shader inside Cheetah3d and using Falcon+HDRI light makes a great difference.

Thank you so much Frank !
here is a snipped as I get it from blender. ( something maybe with the color profile during export?)
also aded a screen shot color as seen in blender.

There´s is probably a conversion issue when Blender is using HSL while Cheetah3d has HSB available with the macOS Color Picker. I have no idea how these different methods are comparable. I think switching to RGB inside Blender will make it easier to compare with macOS/Cheetah3d perhaps. (PS.:Colorprofile can be set in Blender)

From my research I think you should be fine by using RGB values for the base color in Blender and they will translate well to macOS/RGB/Cheetah3D Diffuse channel:
BlenderRGBmacOSRGB.png

In my Blender version the "Principled BSDF" has white Color set up for Emission which I had to set to black - I did not went through all 13 channels - so good chance another setting is not well playing when transferred into Cheetah3D.

Dear Frank, thank you for looking into it. You are totally right , the RBG values come across the same ( did the math on my end) . ( I tried it from a fbx export from blender, and for fun a obj ) Somehow on render the difference is noticeable . I tried different lights and settings .It honestly not a big deal, Could be how Eevee and Cycles handle color differently.
( played with directional light or an skylight , in blender lit with "sun" at 0.100)

Hi silaeb.
Just want to make clear: I'm just a user - not the developer which is Martin Wengenmayer.
PS.: could be a different Gamma setting in the game.
