3D Printing

* A local on-line paper (Der Standard, Vienna, Austria) contains a review of a 3D printer. The device seems to be directed to beginners and may be of interest to those wanting to experiment.

:whistle: Some brief snippets from this review:
* A price of €300 - €350 is given. Amazon charges quite a bit more than that, the producer lists €320 on their German website and $360 on the US site.
* Simple set up
* Printing volume is 245mm x 245mm x 260mm, apparently quite large for this price class
* USB / SD-Card
* 3 fans, though not as noisy as previous model
* Some fiddling gets a precision of 0.16mm; the standard profile seems a bit useless. The timer underestimates the duration of the printing process, specifically with complex 3D models.
* The resin supplied with the standard order may be of uneven quality and should be replaced.
* Power 350W max

:sick: Note that I am not engaged in 3D printing nor plan to do so in the medium future and hold no shares in the company (HQ in Shenzen, PRC) producing this equipment.

* Sorry. as I mentioned I know little to nothing about this subject.

Nope - not my business. I find 3d printing awesome - though I don´t have any use for it (I don't want to release more plastic into the environment than absolutely necessary.). Things I have to rebuild are most likely made from metal like this mounting of my classical/historic drawing machine. (left original, right part got lost so I have to rebuilt one from scratch) or hardwoods for tool handles etc.

I modeled most of it but it’s partly based on files I found on Thingiverse. I plan to reprint the command module with the pod bay open and the command deck visible through the main windows.

I've read that the new Ford Maverick will launch with an online library of schematics and 3D models of compatible accessories that you can print out for your own use in its cab.
