Drill Housing

This was a little test to figure out how to make a two
part plastic housing for a drill or electric screwdriver.

This is not meant to be a design exercise, so I quickly built the model by eye.

Box modeling can be very satisfying and I had fun doing this in stages.
Using a Subdivision Modifier at level 3 at first. Then once I had my basic contours built
I applied one C.C. Subdivision and then reduced the Subdivision Modifier to level 2.

This gave me the geometry I needed to make the larger holes.

For the pocket holes I needed to be able to place them anywhere,
and move them easily so Boolean operations fit the bill nicely.
A lot of pocket holes I see are hard edged, so no need for beveling.

Booleans are all done after making SubDiv editable.

Giving this thickness with the Shell Modifier or the Shell
menu command plus the booleans made it very interesting.
I had to build the inside and outside separately, join them then split them in half.
