Material limits?

I am at the moment try to render a Spec house that I have designed. My question is, is there an upper limit on the number of materials that can be applied to one multiple ploygon shape - or is it within reason limitless?
Thankyou.

* The available selections for a single object are 0..24.
* In architectural models you generally operate on multiples of objects and there is no practical limit.
* :whistle::oops::rolleyes:

You can look up the numbers here:
Cheetah3d assigns the numbers automatically.

Thank you foks for the info & instruction. I have Cheetah3D 6.2.3 (2014) and apparently have a limit on one ploygon of 15(?) see attached.

This changed with the release of v7:
  • Increased max. polygon selections to 24
  • New physical BRDF material system
  • Boolean tool maintains material assignments
  • Merge Tool supports material assignments
  • Improved Material browser
You'll miss a lot of improvements regarding material system/assignments and maintaining and rendering of course . ;-)
