Can't record on/off Tags

Small problem.

OSX 10.15.5 also OSX 10.13.6

Trying to record on/off tags.

Can make the tags go on and off but can’t record them no matter what i try.

Downloaded ‘Animate Material Tags’ and can see the markers for blue and red and can add them and remove them, but can’t record hide/show object.

I try the above on a new animation. I'm in animation mode and have created a red cube.

Again I can turn the colour on and off and the cube on and off but no tags are recorded, unlike above where it does record the colour change but not on/off object.

Tried everything clicked the M ect. I have all the record icons checked.

I thought it might be a Catalina thing but have another Hi Sierra copy on separate drive and same thing.

Dumped the library files - still no joy.

Files included
My Tags don't record
and downloaded Animated Material Tags

kind regards

:unsure: Not sure if I understand your problem.
* To keyframe the settings of any tag:
1 Select the tag in the object browser, right column
2 Click on the red Record key bottom left / right mouse button
3 Record the parameters you want
4 move to a different time-frame
5 Modify the parameters of the tag
6 Click on the red Record key bottom left / right mouse button
7 Record the parameters you have modified

* Of course, depending on the category of the selected tag (mode / colour / spline track / etc) you can record entirely different parameters.
* The parameters of the object proper (shown in the middle column of the object browser) are totally irrelevant to keyframing any tags associated with this object.

* Parameters for mode:

* Parameters for colour:

* Parameters for spline track:

* The F-curve in the sample supplied by you shows clearly that a single key, Tag On/off, has been recorded for the two alternative colours of the object.
* There are no parameters set for the object proper, the box.
