It's still beta but meanwhile "free for everyone, forever" while before it was only free for the duration of the beta. That's the reason I didn't try it out before (no point in learning something I will not use anymore later on (actually, I'm still expecting coming at least a lightweight substance to adobe users)).

Just a quick note: the download went from 351MB in 2018 to 3,95GB for the 2020.1.1 and a 4,54GB occupying monster after installation on your HD.

Actually you can create with a simple 2 giga gpu textures up to 16k.
