Piles of objects

Hi all -

I am trying to produce a pile of mixed objects on a surface. I can use the particle tool to make one object into a pile of multiple versions of that object. I need to make multiple objects into a mixed pile of objects. I hope this makes sense!

So how do I do this?

Thanks,
Rob

* You should request copyright status for the phrase "particle mesh for instance". I suspect that linguists who specialise in Hanseatic humour :sick: are an endangered species of 1 :devilish:, but this is really hilarious in the semantic 3D context.

If your using the Particle Array and dynamics for creating piles
of multiple objects you need a particle array for each object.

You can put multiple objects in one particle array but the objects overlap.

Here's a tip if you're piles are spreading out to much,
try setting the damping and angular damping to 0.75.

Note: That's set in the Rigid Body Tag

The first particle array has not been made editable and should be your master,
only use a copy so you can come back to it if/when things get screwed up.

The second one has been made editable, which is necessary so you can add the Rigid Body Tag to it.
You can still replace the objects with other objects, but they may not fit so you'll have to start with a copy of the master.

Baking the simulation lets you scrub back and forth and find the perfect frame,
and also for a very dense array to pre-calculate the drop.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Edit: I neglected to set the Rigid Body Tag for the plane to concave. The plane is dish shaped.
