I was curious about this picture in a Science Magazine advertisement. I assume it’s an actual micrograph, not a realistic CG render. They appear to be living organisms or viruses.
A rhombic triacontahedron has 30 rhombic faces. In each face the two diagonal distances incorporate the golden ratio known as Phi (.616 : 1 : 1.616). I’m posting it as a tutorial in case anybody wants to add this polyhedron to their collection.
