Walldog Anchor Screw

Hi Everyone,

I'm mainly posting this here to see if anyone has any better methods for creating some of the details on this proprietary screw. I'm going to use the one I have. But thought it would be good to get any input, because I have to use this type of hardware all the time. The biggest issues with my model is that the pan head has bad geometry where it meets up with the Phillips slot. I made it using a Boolean. I tried making the head in all quads using an Octahedron made from a Cube, but I couldn't control the slot size and the Chord size of the dome shape. Also it would have been nice for the threads to line up with the geometry on the shaft, but I think I would need to be able to enter decimal measurements, and that won't work for spline segments. They have to be full number integers.

I also tried a few versions using Lofting, but there was a gap after the last spline. I can post that version here if anyone is interested in tinkering with it.

Usually I get a lot of these models from the McMaster-Carr website and then convert them to .obj using FreeCAD.

Also, someone else may find this setup helpful.
(P.S. These usually have a much smaller shallower thread at the top of the shaft to hold the screw in the drywall. I didn't model that as it won't be seen at the distance I'm rendering it.)
