Alan Holdsworth HH2

Alan Holdsworth HH2

Keisel Guitar had the pleasure of working with Alan Holsworth
for many years and the HH2 was his headless guitar design.

Unfortunately he passed away last year, so I
decided I would have them make one for me.

Although they have in stock guitars, they are a custom shop so
each is unique and different, and there are a whole lot of options.

But with no way to visualize the finished guitar,
I get to have some fun trying to do it with Cheetah 3D.

This is just my standard maple material, but I want the body and neck
made from Black Limba in transparent moss green, looks like pistachio.
And a spalted maple top and fingerboard, not sure if they will do a
fingerboard with spalted maple. But they do plain, flame and
birdseye maple so I'm hoping. Top finished in deep clear satin.

Problem is, it's hard to find good usable pictures of
spalted maple and black limba, also called Korina.

It takes about 10-12 weeks once I order it so we'll see if I can
push this further, if it's even possible to get what I'm imagining.

Here's the Kiesel guitar that inspired the pistachio finish.

Is black limba real wood or is the structure painted on? To me it looks like the latter and probably not that hard (but time consuming) to create in your paint app with an oversized wood texture if you can't find what you need.

That's real wood, similar in density and weight to mahogany.
The moss green is a transparent stain of course.

You're right I probably will have to make it myself,
unless Kiesel can take some good pics for me.

I found a number of good images but they
are all so different from the wood in the picture.

I did find one I really liked.

I assume everyone heard Gibson filed for chapter 11.

Now maybe they will stop all the nonsense and get back to work.

Zoo, I just hope you will show us a picture of the new guitar when you get it in your hands.

I'm really interested in how it will look like (sorry, with due respect and all, that probably will not mean I'll like it).

Looks tasty

I'm not sure making a guitar look like food
is a good idea, it may lead to drool damage. ;)

I will, if it doesn't turn out to be way to expensive, or they
can't do everything I want. Then I may have to rethink.

Which is probably a good thing since I have intermittent GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome)

Speaking of drool damage, I got this one from Kiesels
GIS section (guitars in stock) during my last GAS attack:
