Trefoil knot

Trefoil knot

Here a step by step procedure to prepare the trefoil knot:
Step 1: Select a n-edge spline (n = 6), change the Radius valus for 3 and make it editable by double clicking / select « linear » for the Type (in properties). I have added a n-edge (n = 3) as a template, change the Radius for 1.5
3) step 2: camera in « Front » view: go in the point view and move 3 points on the 3 apex of the triangle.
4) Step 3: camera in « Front » view: delete the triangular template and select the « NURBS » type, you see already a nice trefoil knot shape (but it is flat).
5) Strep 4: Add 6 points: « Tools » = Insert Point and click successively on the 6 existing points (to add the new 6 ones) and go out of the « add point » (click on the 3 Arrows)
6) Step 5: Go back in the point view mode and move the 6 new points (camera in Front view). Easier to do with the linear type.
7) Step 6: Select 3 points (out of the 6 new ones) in an alternate manner, change the camera view mode for « left » and move them right
8) Step 7: Go back in the « front view » mode with the camera, select the 3 other points, go in the « left » view mode and move them left.
And done, easy?
To have all the figure in one file, I have changed the coordinates, put 0 / 0 / 0 for the positions to see.
