Planet 51 Design Challenge

Great entries everyone!
And Zoo, I find your models and renders fantastic as always.
Remember to cut the lawn when you get home :D
Here is my contribution to the contest:
A lawnmower!
I hope to find time to model other parts of the scene because I always found wonderful the style of Planet 51

Wow, that's fantastic! You really stayed within the Planet 51 design style. :icon_thumbup::icon_thumbup:

I think I'm doing Planet 47.

I noticed the last image has become over saturated, no
change in materials, but it looks so different after uploading.

They look fine here before uploading, all the same color and intensity. WTF?

Anyway here's a start on the UFO Power Station building.

Great Lawnmower, you can imagine the build process from primitives to modified pieces but I don't get the real look.
My pics look more like a bad copy of Playmobile...

Thanks Al, the Planet 51 images really got my creative juices flowing.
I've got to get a copy, I still haven't seen it.

I have not seen the movie either, but I love intelligent animation!!
Need to see it...

Regards,
ALinCAL

Due to a stiff neck, I can't drive or sit at the computer for long right now, but I keep trying.
The Planet 51 environment is so richly detailed, I can really get caught up in this one.

We're in the middle of a massive snowstorm here, I'm hoping the power stays on tonight.

Here's the latest on my scene, still more to do.

Very nice work, Zoo. :icon_thumbup: Good luck with that storm. I lived in NY for 20 years and saw some big ones. So if this is the biggest yet, wow! Never saw a ban on traffic though, the cabs would just brave it and get stuck in the snow. Good days strolling down 3rd Ave with no cars was very cool.

Thanks Terry, I remember the blizzard of 78 when they shut down the streets
of Boston and I went driving around town with a friend who had a disaster pass.

I saw a guy hanging onto the rear bumper of a cab being dragged up the avenue in NYC at slow speed whooping. Such fun! Never been to Boston, I missed that one sorry to say.

This is a really cool idea for a contest! :icon_thumbup:

Hopefully you stick all your works for a great big scene together ... after your battle!

Everything looks very nice so far!

Nice design, I like it better than the original.

I've been busy to, only a few more details to add to my scene.

This should be an open ended contest anyway, no time limits.
