Excellent, thanks! Just downloaded in the blink of an eye, nothing like a nice lightweight package

Is it okay to delete the previous versions? I've now got 5.8, 6 and 6.2, with 5.8 in a folder with examples/scripts etc. Would it be fine to blow away the old versions and just keep the latest?

In general it's fine to just switch to new versions of C3D without a thought, although it would be nice if Martin provided links for older versions as a "security blanket".

I'd say that (a) Martin is very careful about releasing new versions of C3D, and (b) on rare occasions where a serious bug is discovered, he is very quick to fix it.

That said, I usually have half a dozen old copies of C3D sitting in my downloads folder ;-)

Thank you Martian for the update: The new UV unwrapping tool is great, the point count is nice. Points are vertices right? Now if We could get the projection painting working it would be awesome.:icon_thumbup: :icon_thumbup: :icon_thumbup: :icon_thumbup: :icon_thumbup:

Just curious this is a new purchase right it can't be updated from 6.1 ?

If you already have Cheetah3D 6.1 all Cheetah3D 6.x updates are free. If you are a registered Cheetah3D 6.x user Cheetah3D shouldn't ask you to enter the registration number.

Bye
Martin

Or (c) you can already download almost all old version from my webpage.

Whoa. Love the new loop/ring select. And I hope I can model something that will take advantage of ABF soon. :) Thanks!

sorry for the question what is abf unwrapping and what does it do from before?
i just tired it on an object it did something magic i think..... :D

Cool!
These Cheetah 6.2 features are sounding nice. The unwrap feature to simplify complex unwraps can really speed things up, along with the other new features to try out.

Will check this out, thanks Martin! And thanks also for the tip on going into Dynamics, and baking the physics so I could get the same results for rigid body physics with each press of play for each camera (left and right) on the 3D camera rig. It worked! :)

The new selection highlighting is amazingly helpful - thanks so much for that Martin!

As for the other new functionalities:

Support for "Spline IK" and the new "Split joint" tool - I'll wait for others to hopefully post information on these as I do not know how to utilize them and there appears no listing for them in the help manual (admittedly, I have not yet gotten into character animation).

I also briefly experimented with the new ABF unwrapping algorithm but do not really know what the difference is between that and the older LSCM method.

In which scenarios would you use one over the other?

thanks for the new version. Anxious to test it out.
Just ordered my first 3D prints from v6.1 and I'm hoping 6.2 will help me with the displacement warping I was having from Spherify tool with my curved button top.

Thanks, think I should move the other versions out to another folder.

Useful info thanks. And thanks also for a great update!
