Non trapezoidal option for Inner Extrude
I use the current Inner Extrude tool quite a bit, but the way it works with rectangular faces has begun to create problems with texture mapping. Specifically, the trapezoidal regions created around the inner, inset rectangular region tend to warp the texture maps in ways that are difficult to fix.
I realize I'm asking for something rather special purpose, but having the option to do an Inner Extrude of a rectangular face like this:
+--------------+
|..............|
+--+--------+--+
|..|........|..|
|..|........|..|
|..|........|..|
|..|........|..|
+--+--------+--+
|..............|
+--------------+
Note: ignore the periods, they are added to keep the editor from collapsing my ASCII art.
rather than like this:
+--------------+
|\............/|
|.\........../.|
|..+--------+..|
|..|........|..|
|..|........|..|
|..|........|..|
|..+--------+..|
|./..........\.|
|/............\|
+--------------+
would we very convenient. Note: I realize there are other ways to subdivide the face other than the one I've shown, so it might be necessary to provide a selector to indicate which subdivision method was wanted.
