Default First cheetah project without Tutorial - 18.04.2008, 22:04

Here is my verry first test render of a scene i made .
I know it's far from perfect but it is a start .
Now i'm going to concentrate on better lightning an smoother image quality .
Any suggestions are verry appreciated .
( To be honest, i'm a little bit proud at myself because i'm only using cheetah for a day or ten )

Greetings
Kenneth

PS: Special thanks to Frank for providing me a low polygon hull .

Added 2 more screens ,just for fun .
Would be nice to hear wich ones you prefer .

Hi Kenneth,
TinTin was part of my childhood and I loved it. I have them all at the studio (along a few first editions is one chinese edition ) and I´ll keep them forever. (BTW: the rumours are saying Steven Spielberg is going to bring TinTin to the movies; could be a nice project)

Ah - and Georges Prosper Rémi was belgian. Don´t know where "TinTin" came from. In german it is "Tim & Struppi". Its released in 74 languages.

Georges Prosper Remi was born in 1907 in Etterbeek, in Brussels, Belgium to parents, Alexis and Elisabeth Remi.

TinTin is the way the French call him

Nice job. Are the fins extruded with rounded edges?

Made me look up Tintin (always wondered about the politics, since Tintin spanned WWII and the Nazi occupation of Belgium). Our school library had fairly complete sets of Tintin, Asterix (my favorite), and Lucky Luke (never figured out the appeal of Lucky Luke, although I liked the style of the artwork).

No , it's a flattend box with with subdivision and edge manipulation .
i guess i'ts certainly not made the way it's supposed to be modled.
The fins have a great polygon count with the " catmull" tool . ( i'll hope Frank will teach me more abouth polygon reduction since he provide me with the hull of this object )
While making this i also learned a lot about modelling , i think i can make the same scene again with a lower polygon count ( and without Franks help )

PS : asterix is great ,always good for a laugh

Wasnt so much into Tintin, but loved Asterix. Tintin the movie is geting made in Wellington by Peter Jackson(LOTR, Weta Workshop) I believe, and they're promising to reinvent filmmaking again. As well as a remake of Dambusters and a Halo movie(yawn)
