Hiroto's PolygonToSpline.js script is a powerful tool for modeling shapes with polygons, then converting all or just selected edges to splines. Attached are examples of tubular structures made using the sweep creator.

Wow. Very nice. Reminds me of the movie "Silent Running" which had space frame domes for the habitats of their main ship.

Of all of Hiroto's super-useful scripts, this is my favorite.

Model in polygons, then extract edges as splines for use with creator objects such as the Sweep or Isosurface. Great for making complex structures or just adding details and finishing touches.
