Lighting Gels

Lighting Gels

One of the features C3D has long missed is the ability to add gels to lights. If it were spotlights only, that would be fine.

True - there is no feature ON the light properties to add a Gel - BUT you can do so manually with great results - the materials used simply have the transparency set to a color and then pass a light through them - these experiments were testing the look of stained glass - seems to work fine - just a bit of manual setup. On samples 3 & 4, the Tiger image was set up as a light box (just emissive with no light passing through). The left window is a polygon grid with transparency set to a color. the middle window has the transparency set to an image. Outside is a skylight passing through the windows. In example 4, I was trying to get a lampshade effect. I set up a polyhedron with a light inside it. Material on the polyhedron had transparency set to an image. All experiments pretty successful methinks. Cheers.
