How to make grass in c3d

How to make Grass in C3D

Hello everyone,
in this tutorial I will explain my method to get in a few minutes the example in the second image attached .

MODELING
-Create a plan and set the height and width to 5

-Click on visible in editor and render to make the plane invisible

-Create a particle mesh

-Use the plan as mesh ( drag in the appropriate box ) Type : surface

-Click on: Tools - script - polygon script - Grassy Knoll.Js

-Drag Grassy Knoll in Particle Mesh

-add a particle tag on Grassy knoll

- Set the particle tag :
rotation variation: 20 - 180-20
scale variation: 0 - 0.2 - 0

-Double click on Grassy Knoll (make it editable for unwrap)
Go to UV editing
Right click on the "white square" and select Unwrap UV with LSCM (or ABF)
Go back to modeling mode

- Copy and paste twice grassy knoll
(It will be useful to use different materials on the three groups of tufts.
This passage has been deleted from the file in example for reasons of file size)

LIGHTS AND GROUND

- Create a disk and set radius to 35 (Ground)

-Create a light
type: Distant
Set rotation : 10 -20 -30
Set shadow color to (gray scale) 75 %

-Create a new light
type: Ambient
set Intensity to 0.1

MATERIALS

For the ground:
- New material - Diffuse: 90% on gray scale - Specular: Pure Black

For the Grass:
-New material - Diffuse: Attacched Image - Specular: Pure Black

-Copy and paste the material - go to node editor

- Add Node - Math - mix
Tie the color of the image with the Color 0 of the mix,
then tie the color of the mix to diffuse on material.
Set mix to 0,2
(In this way, the material can be made lighter or darker
depending on the parameter that is assigned to the mix)

- Copy and paste the "second" material
Tie the color of the image with the Color 1 of the mix
Set mix to 0,8

-Drag a material for each Grassy Knoll

-Last note: I added a DOF to spice up the render

Of course you can use another particle mesh with the same base mesh
and different settings to add other elements like flowers or stones

That's all!

I hope it will be useful to someone Thanks for watching

Ps Find Marty!!
