Transparency fun

Hmm Im confused, Its got to be something straight forward. How do I get this to render properly?The viewports quite misleading because it shows transparency whereas I can get the render to go transparent...?

Alphas don't show on a plain background, you need to add an object or a flat plane behind the wire and then it will work fine
