multiple textures question

multiple textures question

Hi folks,
i've already read this great thread+tutorial: http://www.cheetah3d.de/forum/showthread.php?t=171... very useful but it's quite old so the question is: is this still the best way to do this or is it possible to overlay multiple textures (with alpha) on the same object?

question n.2: is there a way to limit "emissive" material properties to a part of the object (by using an alpha map, for example)?

thank you in advance!

Cheers,
Alessandro

Hi SurfingAlien:

Great questions sorry I don't have any answers. I will be watching,

There's still no way to do this properly in C3D. Possibly in v5 when it appears.

is there a way to limit "emissive" material properties to a part of the object (by using an alpha map, for example)

No. Definitely in v5 when it appears.

Couldn't you select the polygons you want to apply emissive material against and do it that way?

thank you Robert... in some case it should definitely work but not for what i'm tryin' to do

here's a WIP (look at the "fire" light over the ring inscription).

Cheers,
Alessandro
