Symmetry mess

Symmetry mess

I'm trying to model something like a ugly seafish creature

A box with symmetry mod. on .
When i put a subdivision on the symmetry i get weird results .
The polygons are intersecting or something i guess ?

Is there a way to get this done right without weird polygons ?
i've added a crease in the center on the back of the fish because otherwise i get a dent with the subdivider tool ?

Hope i've explaind this right

Thanks
Kenneth

Hi Kenneth.
Seems you have some "bonus" polygons on the back side. Check this out by disabling the modifier stack. Then try to avoid ngons&tris where ever you can.
In my example you can see it´s pretty possible though, but it´s always better.
And I wouldn´t need creased edges at this state - pull`em out and make and additional ringcut instead.

Cheers
frank

edit: add somehow "optimized" fresh fish mesh.:p
