3rd party animation app suggestions

I'm looking for a good 3rd party animation package for mac that can work with cheetah. Something more dedicated to animation but don't want to loose c3d in the "pipeline".

Like motionbuilder or pmg messiah. (both just for windows)

Any ideas?
 
Hi,
that doesn't help you immediately but I plan to invest more time in the animation tools once I'm done with 5.0. While Cheetah3D has an excellent foundation for animation under the hood the UI is a little bit behind its possibilities. But the good thing is the UI enhancements don't take to much time.:smile:

Sounds good Martin, and Margus, Maya's definately not a one stop shop for animation. For example it is really hit-and miss with importing mocap. (Read-"crap") I think they have motionbuilder to make up for mayas deficiencies. Add the two together money-wise and its worth looking elsewhere I reckon.

It depends. Maya is expencive but has many great tools. For example, Cheetahs rigging tools and options cant be even compared to Maya´s. I agree that there are some cheaper options available.
