Whats the trick for rendering multi-transparencies?

You´ll reach pretty fast the limit of "Max. ray depth" which is 24 right now.
I´d better build some low geometry wheat and make use of the instance system.

If the mesh onto which the wheat texture is projected has roughly the shape of the wheat you get much less alpha overdraw and the max. ray depth of 24 should work even better.

Due to less alpha overdraw it should even render faster.

And don't forget to set the refractive index of the material to 1.
