Newbie Question

Hello,

I have strong interest to buy this program,
but I am a newbie to 3D animation.

I am a graphic artist, who want to make his
creative babies alive in 3D.

Would this program suit for me?

IS it for example possible to use my graphics
on the geometrical forms, like a sphere, ...

Is it possible to import my graphic art, and
let it move, apply it on 3D forms, and let them animate
as vortexes,... etc. ?

Kindly,
Steven

Steven, download the demo and have a go. The forums great, so if you get stuck just ask. Have fun and I hope you enjoy CHeetah3D.

Yeah, it's possible to do all that and Cheetah would be a place to start for the price.

There are freeware 3D apps.; Blender is very sophisticated;

http://www.blender.org/

- ( but not so good if you aren't versed in 3D, but have a look anyway)

and cheaper one's, which are modeling tools with no animation (get them too).

As any kind of artist you'll find it interesting!

-Cheetah is the same money as a night on the town...

Lightwave 9

-2 or 3 nights depending on how stupid you are?

importing jpeg?

Hello Guys,

thanks for anwsering my post.

I have downloaded Cheetah, and did for a search in
the manual - how to import my artwork. I have 2D
artwork, non vecotrized.

As far as I learned from the manual, it is only possible
to import PDF files, or vectorized graphics?

Or am I wrong?

kindly,
Steven

How about starting with loading jpeg's to the material assigned to an object?

-make a box, add a material and in the object browser click on the material icon and it will show up in the properties pane.

Load the images where the arrow points and Voila!; 2D artwork all over the box!
