Roation point

I'm Probably missing something obvious but if i import an svg file (say a wheel or something) i cant change the rotation point to the centre so its rotates around its centre - it rotates from the bottom left hand corner. how can i change the rotation point to the middle.

When in front view, select all points of your splines and move them to the desired place at y,z axis.

PS: this may work only for polygone objects and not for splines unlike Frank's method.
